JMK Leadership team
Our leadership team consists of architects Julia, Michael, and Kseniia, who are based in different locations and oversee our project partners and team members. We work with a flexible, scalable team of 3D specialists and technical draftspeople, enabling us to respond dynamically to the needs of each project. We are an international team, actively engaged in projects across Europe and the United States.
Architect DI Julia Schafhauser, Msc, LEED
CEO
Julia Schafhauser serves as the Managing Director of the U.S. office and Director of Strategic Partnerships USA / Europe. She is a LEED AP BD+C accredited professional in Building Design and Construction, as well as an Associate AIA and ASID member. Julia holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Architecture and brings over 15 years of broad experience in the architecture and interior design industry in New York City, with projects spanning nationwide. She is specializing in Hospitality, Commercial, Retail, Healthcare, and high-end Residential projects. Her work has been featured in Hospitality Design Magazine, Boutique Design Magazine, and EFA: Environments for the Aging. Julia is passionate about shaping Branded Environments and Narrative Spaces through a thoughtful blend of traditional architectural principles and advanced technologies. With a strong commitment to sustainability, she integrates environmentally responsible strategies into her work and actively promotes resource-efficient, high-performance buildings aligned with LEED standards. Known for her collaborative mindset and warm communication style, she excels at guiding clients through the design process with energy and enthusiasm. Her expertise spans all phases of a project from Concept and Schematic Design through Design Development, Budgeting, Construction Documentation, Specifications, and Construction Administration, to custom Furniture and Lighting design.

Dr. Michael Holzer

Michael Holzer is Managing Director and a licensed architect in Austria and the European Union. He holds a formal carpentry qualification in construction from Germany and completed his architectural studies at various universities in Germany and Austria. In 2013, he earned his doctorate at TU Vienna and ETH Zurich, with a dissertation focused on fire protection and multi-story timber construction.
Michael has been working as an independent architect for over 10 years and previously served as a project manager at several architectural firms in Vienna, Graz, and Berlin.
His strengths lie in the analysis and identification of innovative solutions for users—both in urban design contexts and site-specific developments as well as in project organization and management. With over 25 years of experience in construction detailing and technical development, Michael brings deep expertise in carbon-neutral building systems. He skillfully integrates energy, building services, and safety technologies with user requirements to deliver sustainable, high-performance architectural solutions.
