The task involved conceptualizing a new bakery production facility, including packaging and storage areas, as well as office workspaces for approximately 75–100 employees.
To achieve this, close collaboration with the client was essential—particularly for designing the room sizes and layouts according to the production workflow. Coordination with the machinery manufacturers supplying the ovens and cooling systems also took place during the planning phase, in order to define all technical installations from the outset and to plan for supply and disposal lines, as well as energy and power routing. A photovoltaic system is intended to support the energy supply and, among other things, serve to charge the fleet of electric delivery vehicles. The production hall was positioned on the lower level, with office, meeting, and staff rooms located on the upper level.
The main production hall itself was designed to span two stories, with a height of 8–10 meters. The structure was defined as a reinforced concrete skeleton construction, with a sawtooth roof made of lightweight steel and wood elements. The north-facing sawtooth sections are fitted with ribbon windows to provide natural daylight, while the south-facing sections are equipped with photovoltaic panels. Large glass façades on the courtyard side provide natural lighting and ventilation.
Facing the street, the planned building will appear as a single-story structure and will blend harmoniously into the organically developed village setting. Despite its large footprint, the design avoids the appearance of a massive building.
